Removing Viruses From “C:\System Volume Information”

Sometimes when dealing with viruses, they will infect Windows’ System Restore folder, a folder which a normal (and even administrator) does not have permission to access by default.

So, let me show you how to remove a virus from the System Volume Information directory in Windows XP or Windows Vista.

It’s actually quite simple, you can delete the folders the virus is in just by disabling the System Restore function entirely.

Navigate to your System Control inside the Windows Control Panel, and click the System Restore tab. Check the box for “Turn off system restore for all drives” and apply the settings.

By turning off the System Restore feature, Windows automatically deletes everything inside the System Volume Information folder.

Easy as cake, right?
